چکیده

The only member of human cytochrome P450 E subfamily is CYP2E1 (Zhuge et al., 2003), located in the 10q24.3-qter region of chromosome 10. It contains 9 exons, 8 introns, and a typical TATA box and it spans 11,413 base pairs of genomic DNA (Umeno, 1988). CYP2E1 plays a key role in the metabolic activation of many low molecular weight carcinogens (e.g., benzene, N-nitrosamines, carbon tetrachloride chloroform and vinyl chloride) and producing reactive oxygen species (e.g., superoxide anion radical, hydrogen peroxide), which can affect target tissue and ultimately lead to carcinogenesis (Hou et al., 2007; Guo et al., 2010; Feng et al., 2012). CYP2E1 has several polymorphisms. Studies reported that its functional polymorphisms are associated with increased and decreased susceptibility to many cancer types, including esophageal cancer, lung cancer, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and colorectal cancer (Cai et al., 2005; Sangrajrang et al., 2006). CYP2E1*5B (rs2031920) and CYP2E1*6 (rs6413432)

The Allele and Genotype Frequencies of Bovine Pituitaryspecific Transcription Factor and Leptin Genes in IranianCattle and Buffalo Populations Using PCR-RFLP

The use of polymorphic markers in breeding programmes could make selection more accurate and efficient. A total of 324 individuals from six Iranian cattle populations (Sarabi, Golpayegani, Sistani, Taleshi, Mazandarani, Dashtiyari), F1 Golpayegani × Brown Swiss and Iranian buffalo populations were genotypedfor the Pit-1 HinfI and leptin Sau3AI polymorphisms by the polymerase chain reactio...

CYP2E1*5B, CYP2E1*6, CYP2E1*7B, CYP2E1*2, and CYP2E1*3 allele frequencies in iranian populations.

BACKGROUND CYP2E1 encodes an enzyme which is mainly involved in bioactivation of potential carcinogens such as N-nitrosamines. Polymorphisms in the gene have been reported to be associated with cancer. The aim of this study was to evaluate genotype distributions and allele frequencies of five CYP2E1 polymorphisms in Iran. MATERIALS AND METHOD Two hundred healthy individuals of an Iranian popu...

Polymorphism of Prion Protein Gene (PRNP) in Iranian Holstein and Two Local Cattle Populations (Golpayegani and Sistani) of Iran

Bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) is a fatal infectious neurodegenerative disease in cattle, characterized by the accumulation of an abnormal, proteaseresistant prion protein (PrPSc) in the brain. BSE is similar to scrapie in sheep and goats and Creuzfeldt-Jakob disease in humans. Susceptibility in cattle hasbeen shown to be under the influence of two polymorphic locations, which are...

Study of cyp2E1 gene RsaI/PstI polymorphisms in patients with gastric cancer in north of Iran

Background: North of Iran is amongst high incidence rate areas of gastric carcinoma where environmental carcinogenic compounds especially agricultural pesticides are massively used. Cytochrome P450 2E1 (CYP2E1) enzyme metabolically activates a large number of low molecular mass xenobiotics. The polymorphic nature of cyp2E1 gene control elements is associated with interindividual differences...

Genotype and allelic frequencies of CYP2E1*5B polymorphism in the southwest population of Iran

Background: Cytochrome P450 2E1 (CYP2E1) is a main enzyme which plays a major role in activating and detoxifying many xenobiotics, carcinogens and drugs. Available studies suggest that CYP2E1 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are involved in the risk of developing certain cancers after exposure to carcinogens. The purpose of the present study was to assess genotype and allele frequencies o...

Distribution of Allele Frequencies at 5′-Flanking Region of CYP19 and ERα Genes between Iranian Simmental and Three Indigenous Cattle Breeds

This study was performed to investigate two polymorphic sites from Cyp19 gene (PvuII and MspI) and one polymorphic site from ERα gene (SnaBI) in four cattle breeds including Mazandarani, Taleshi, Sistani and Simmental. In overall 278 samples for CYP19 and 206 samples for ERα marker sites were genotyped using polymerase chain reactionsingle-strand conformation polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) procedure. ...
